

Who are we?
My name is Mikeal Wood, I am the owner of Upstate Party Rental Inc. I started this company in March 2001 from scratch. I was 19 at the time. When I was 24 I won the SBA young entrepreneur of the year award. Here is an article the Business Journal did on me. I built this company from the ground up. I can still be found pounding in tent stakes with everyone else. This helps me to make sure you are getting the best equipment possible (and is a great stress reliever).
So I suppose you would like to know what the pictures on the front page are all about. The first is a picture of us delivering wedding to a peninsula on Racket Lake, NY. This shows you our flexibility and commitment to your party. The second picture is of a wedding with a 40'x100' pole tent with tent liner and all the trimmings. I have three children, all will graduate high school and all will get married (I hope) Both of these events are once in a life time experiences, and all parties are very special. We don't pay special attention to just the big weddings, my wedding was pretty small in fact. We were kind of tossed aside by the people doing the set up. You can rest assured it won't happen to you.
What should you expect when ordering?
First we take a 25% nonrefundable deposit to reserve your date and the bulk of your order. You might want to make sure your kid will definitely graduate. Otherwise they owe you an explanation and 25% of what the party was going to cost you.
Second, 7 days before we set up we need all your final numbers. For example you sent out 200 invitation and only 175 RSVP. No problem we adjust your order and you pay for only what you need. Your deposit comes off your final bill. The only exception would be if you canceled the tent you you will lose the deposit on the tent. (By this time we have turned people away for that item).
Third you will make the very important and free call to DIG SAFE NY 1 800 962 7962. This is to check for underground utilities It would be a real bummer if the day before your wedding we drove a stake through your septic tank. Smelly. Smelly.
Forth and most important is the day of delivery. We set ALL of our tents. This is to ensure it is set properly and safely. We set the dancefloor tables and chairs. We must know where the dancefloor goes before we set it once down we cannot move it. If you are just doing just a tent tables and chairs and cannot be there we will open all the tables and arrange them accordingly and put the chairs on top so that you may rearrange with ease if you want to.
